Bollywood's favourite mother Reema Lagoo, 59, passed away following cardiac arrest

She is survived by daughter Mrunmayee, who is also an actress and a theatre director. Her son-in-law Vinay Waikul said to media that she complained about her chest pain on last Wednesday night.

Veteran actress Reema Lagoo died today of a cardiac arrest in Mumbai.

Scores of Bollywood actors and actresses, who have worked with Reema conveyed their condolences and grief through their Twitter and Instagram accounts. The news of her demise was met with shock as she wasn't suffering from any prolonged illness and hence this sudden onslaught of a heart attack was shattering, to say the least. She was the glamorous mother in Indian cinema. She also appeared in many TV serials. Her most popular movies were Hum Aapke Hain Koun.!, Hum Saath-Saath Hain, Maine Pyar Kiya and Kal Ho Naa Ho. She was last seen in Mahesh Bhatt's television serial Naamkaran. Both Viraf and Reema's bond was liked by the audience on the TV show. She was last heard as voice narrated character of Katyar (Dagger) in Marathi period opus Katyar Kaljat Ghusali (2015).
