The CW has dropped the first trailer for the new DC Comics series Black Lightning, and - not surprisingly - it looks pretty great.
According to the schedule released at the CW Upfront presentation, Black Lightning will be held for mid-season.
Although CW's DC czar Greg Berlanti is involved in the project, the show apparently will not be part of the CW's Berlantiverse, a shared DC universe that features Supergirl, the Martian Manhunter, the Flash, the Green Arrow, as well as the time traveling team the Legends of Tomorrow.
"We do not aim to do a five-way crossover", Pedowitz told reporters.

Which is encouraging, because the two young women, in the comics, eventually become the heroes known as Thunder and Lightning. But it's also a lot of action, showing that Black Lightning is gonna kick major butt.
