Katy Perry opens up on livestream about suicidal thoughts

Katy Perry broke down and wept during her live-streamed "therapy session" with Dr. Siri Sat Nam Singh.

Singer Katy Perry says she feels "ashamed" for having suicidal thoughts in the past. News.com.au reports Katy opened up about depression, her attitude to drinking, and experiencing suicidal thoughts.

We knew we'd likely be seeing Katy Perry in a slightly different light when she announced that she would be live-streaming her life as part of the promo efforts surrounding her new album, Witness.

According to Katy Perry during her incredibly raw session, she told the psychologist that the superstar she has become is somewhat of an alter-ego. The garrulous comedian proposed while they were on holiday in India just a few months after meeting Perry in 2009.

Perry also allows more space for her own voice, showing her talent for gliding from a gentle rasp to smooth higher ranges.
