At least two personnel working for Pakistani navy were killed and four others injured when some unknown militants sprayed bullets at their vehicle in the countrys southwest Gwadar district on Monday, local Urdu media reported.
The officers were transporting iftar items during a routine run from Jiwani city when the attack took place.
"The attackers opened fire on the vehicle, leaving one officer martyred and five wounded", an official said.
A spokesman for the Navy, however, said that three personnel had been injured.
The security forces cordoned off the area after the attack and launched search operation but no arrest was made. They received several injuries from the firing and out of the four injured, some are in critical condition. He vowed to take action against the attack and punish those responsible. Directing the police to submit the report on the incident, Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri in a statement said, "We will not bow down before the terrorists". The latest incident comes just few days after the ISIS claimed that it had killed two Chinese nationals, who had been kidnapped on May 24th from Jinnah town in Quetta. Condemning the incident, China had said it was working to verify the information. "Islamic State fighters killed two Chinese people they had been holding in Baluchistan province, southwest Pakistan", The terrorist group's news agency Amaq had said, as per Reuters.
Explosives, detonators, Kalashnikovs and pistols were seized from the dead terrorists. A number of weapons and ammunition was also seized from the suspects.
