Donshay White, fighting his first bout since November 2015, was up against Ricky Muse during Hardrock MMA 90 in Louisville, Kentucky. When White made his way backstage on his own, he collapsed and became unresponsive, the report stated.
The 37-year-old failed to protect himself after a number of heavy blows as referee Gary Copeland stopped the fight two minutes and 22 second into the second round. According to the report, which was the first news outlet to report the unfortunate incident, White appeared to be exhausted and received immediate medical attention.
He received CPR and was transported to a nearby hospital but later died. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital where he later died.
The cause of death is not known at this time.
