Xinhua said the man was now unemployed but had left his home of Chongqing in southwest China in 2014 to become a migrant worker. His family, who lost contact with him years ago, say that he has a mental illness. They said the motive for the attack was not immediately known. A medical evaluation will be conducted to confirm his mental state.
