Anyone heading along to the festival is being encouraged to arrive early and leave themselves plenty of time to get into the venue after reports on social media yesterday suggesting that queues stretched well over an hour to get into the festival, with others reporting "overcrowding" in the massive queue.
However, the day began with organisers issuing an apology after festival-goers had complained about delays and queues at entrances on the opening day of the festival.
It happened when people were trying to get in to the site at Marlay Park. We had encouraged people to arrive early and they heeded the encouragement to a greater level than anticipated making that first hour hard and I owe those caught up in it an apology.
However, every single person caught up in the shock of the uncomfortable start was able to continue into the concert and enjoy the day despite that.
The statement says teams have worked throughout the night to improve the entry for today and tomorrow so everyone can enjoy the festival.
Yesterday Stormzy, Picture This and Dua Lipa took to the main stage with Picture This nipping over to play a secret gig in the forest at Today FM's tent in the woods.
Tonight's headline act The Weekend will be supported by 2016 Mercury Music Prize victor Skepta.
