Antonio Conte sends message to Chelsea board about summer signings

Matic swapped Premier League champions Chelsea for the opportunity to reunite with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford in a move reported to be worth £40million on Monday.

Last term, he flourished at an unfamiliar right wing-back position and he was subsequently rewarded with a new contract by "The Blues".

The response hinted at the possibility that Conte was not in agreement with the call and he will certainly hope there are no more unwanted departures in the transfer window.

Hazard has reportedly been identified as a possible replacement for Neymar at Camp Nou, while Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked during the close-season. "Now we are only a few players".

"I can give my opinion but the final decision is always the club's".

And Conte is adamant the situation has not changed, saying: "For me it's very simple the situation, and I repeat what I said in the past, maybe 10 days ago".

He said: "It's a hard topic".

"I think only one player is not enough to improve our team, we need more players".

"You know well that I have great consideration for Hazard because he is a really top player". But if PSG is able to do this, why not?

"Don't forget we are trying to improve our squad in the numerical aspect".

Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso played the majority of last season without much back-up options but Sandro was considered one of Chelsea's main targets.

Moses was sent off in May, in the FA Cup final against Arsenal for a second bookable offence. "I don't understand why a lawyer is getting involved, I don't understand this", Conte said in the press conference ahead of the Community Shield clash with Arsenal on Sunday (6 August).
