Roadhog and Junkrat buffs are hitting PTR "very soon", Jeff Kaplan confirms

Blizzard Entertainment is not just introducing new deathmatch game modes to Overwatch via a Public Test Region (PTR) update Thursday. It's now accessible for PC players so you can have a gander at it by downloading the PTR client separately. Furthermore, when climbing up walls, RIP-Tire's timer won't be expended.

"Giving the Junkrat the ability to store two concussion mines adds some much-needed flexibility and versatility to his kit, particularly when using the mines for mobility", Overwatch's PTR patch notes state.

"Currently, we have been play testing Roadhog with -50% damage taken while using Take a Breather, and also allowing him to move at full speed while inhaling", Kaplan said on the official Overwatch forums. Finally, Widowmaker's grappling hook is now on an 8 second cooldown instead of 12 and enemies hit by Venom Mine are visible through walls (but only for the player).

In regards to Orisa, her Fusion Driver projectile speed has been increased by 20%, and the barrier size of her Protective Barrier has also been increased by 20%, with the shape changed to allow coverage from enemies below the barrier too. RIP-Tire's damage has always been very good, but it was often hard to steer the tire into position before it was destroyed. "Increasing its speed will allow players to effectively detonate the tire more often and decrease the amount of time that Junkrat is vulnerable while controlling it".

Barrier size increase by 20%.

Developer Comments: These changes help Roadhog be much more aggressive when looking for hook targets or blocking for his team. The combination of these effects significantly increases Roadhog's sustainability and survivability. Although she's not the most popular tank choice as of right now, it seems like she's in a good place, as there seems to be no immediate need to buff her. "The projectile speed increase helps Orisa's consistency, especially at medium ranges (or further)", the developer comment says. Venom Mine is meant to be an early warning system, uncovering enemies that are attempting to flank her or her team. According to the devs, the new shape should help her out more when defending certain objectives such as when she's escorting the payloads.

Like a smaller version of her ultimate ability, Widowmaker's Venom Mine will now be able to spot enemies who trigger the trap, even if they're behind walls.
