The trio give United a new spine to the team, though it remains to be seen if Lindelof, who has yet to get up to speed in pre-season, starts with Eric Bailly returning from a ban.
Chelsea's willingness to sell the player drew criticism from numerous figures within the sport, with Paul Scholes most recently questioning the decision to let him go.
"It wasn't a fantastic year for United or Pogba, but it was successful in the end and that is all that matters", adds Lampard, as he passed judgement on the midfielder United paid £89m to sign from Juventus last summer.
"Whether Conte knows something different to us, I don't know", he said.
The Manchester United and Chelsea target has been linked to a move away after fellow full-back Kyle Walker moved to the Etihad for over £50 million. Did he want a new challenge at 29?
"It was certainly a position that Manchester United as a team needed to strengthen, and they've gone and done it with Matic".
"Matic was very important and sometimes you could look past him at other players like [N'Golo] Kante, Hazard, who catch the eye, but he played a very positionally disciplined role for Chelsea with the way they go forward".
"I do think he's got the natural talent to come in and score the 20-plus goals that Diego Costa scored previous year".
Chelsea have made four signings - Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Antonio Rudiger and Willy Caballero - this summer, while allowing Matic, Nathan Ake, Asmir Begovic, Nathaniel Chalobah, John Terry, Kurt Zouma and Ruben Loftus-Cheek to leave either permanently or on loan.
But Lampard believes the 24-year-old's determination to force his way out of a comfortable situation in the Spanish capital is a good sign. I have seen him work on the field and in the gym.
"He seemed like he wanted to leave past year at times, although he was very influential and played very well", he said of Costa. I think he has good prospects for Chelsea - for now and the future.
"For the record I don't think Danny will go his a sensational player but not great to do what has done with this interview as been told to!"
"He's very similar in a way to Michael Carrick - a controlling midfielder".
