As the hysteria mounts ahead of Neymar's Paris Saint-Germain debut Sunday focus switched from his record transfer fee to the question of which star would make way for the Brazilian.

The deal is expected to be around £163million for Mbappe, which will make him the second most expensive player in the world.

Monaco have rejected a €155m offer from PSG for Mbappe and are holding out for a figure of around €200m before they agree to sell their star man to their top Ligue 1 rivals.

Anything other than a spectacular debut showing from Neymar and the criticism will begin in earnest.

So long as the document has been verified by the French FA (FFF) and League (LFP) by midnight on Saturday, which serves as a formality, Neymar will be able to feature in Brittany the following day.

"I don't feel like I've been tricked", Pique said at a media conference ahead of Barca's Supercopa de Espana first-leg clash with Real Madrid.

Asked about his views on the issue after the Amiens game, PSG coach Unai Emery said he was not sure "Spain did everything" to ensure Neymar would be cleared to play for PSG in time.

Clubs from all around Europe were rumoured to be interested in the 18-year-old, including Real Madrid but it now looks like the player will be heading to Paris. "The transfer is complete, so this should not last". News that will be welcomed by the auditors at Uefa, who will have their work cut out investigating PSG's finances if the Mbappe deal does turn out to be genuine.

PSG had been linked with a €180 million approach for the France worldwide, but have now denied they will make an official bid due to Financial Fair Play restrictions.

"I want the fans to come Sunday to see Guingamp win. preferably against a side with Neymar in it".

He added, according to L'Equipe: "We like challenges".

Saying that, Guingamp played well last weekend and will force PSG to remain diligent in defense.
