Neymar : Barcelona receive PSG money to free up striker

Postado Agosto 14, 2017

Paris St Germain may not be done with their big spending just yet. The lead up to the game had been filled with reports that Neymar had gotten into a fight with a teammate during a training session and had left the field right after.

After lighting up Rio's legendary Maracanã stadium as well as Barcelona's magnificent Camp Nou, Neymar, the world's most expensive footballer will be welcomed to French football later tonight at Guingamp's modest, 17,000-capacity Stade du Rouduorou in sleepy Brittany.

Barcelona players labelled last season a failure and Gerard Pique among others has suggested a return to passing, possession football is what is needed for the club to restore their previous glories.

It is a dirty divorce: after his 222 million euro change to Paris Saint-Germain as Neymar now wants to sue his past employer, Barcelona at the Federation Internationale de Football Association. And according to Spanish outlet Marca, they have now turned their gaze to PSG's Angel Di Maria. Yes, Neymar has proved his mettle as a player at 25 is probably about to hit his peak but that sort of amount for an individual was unheard of.

They have also parted ways with Spain winger Vitolo, captain Vicente Iborra and, more crucially, long time sporting director Monchi, who has been credited with unearthing so numerous players responsible for the team's many successes in the 21st century.

Neymar's move to France has been troubled since the release clause in his contract was triggered.

"Philippe has tried very hard to find an amicable solution to this situation but to no avail", a member of Coutinho's family reportedly told Sky Sports.

Nice had one of the best starts in the Ligue 1 last season with star striker Mario Balotelli firing in full calibre and the club enjoyed a spell on the top of the table. "He has tremendous love for the club and its fans, but like Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez have pointed out in the past, Liverpool does not let its players leave on amicable terms".

Barcelona is set to kick off its La Liga season on August 20. To compete with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, PSG realised they needed to spend heavily.
