A 19-year-old son of a former Manipur Minister died on Saturday morning after he fell from the terrace of a restaurant in Hauz Khas Village.
"Some flower pots were found broken at the rear side of the restaurant building while his personal items like purse, cell phone and spectacles were found lying on the terrace".
Apart from questioning restaurant staff, police was examining the closed-circuit television footage from the restaurant. According to the police, Siddharth had gone to the restaurant alone and finished the food he had ordered before proceeding to the terrace. Investigators, in fact, haven't ruled out the possibility of him being pushed off the terrace.A case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder was registered after Siddharth's family expressed suspicion of foul play.'Probing all angles'"We are probing all angles and have registered a case of culpable homicide , As Reported By Hindu".
A waiter saw him and asked him to come down and he obliged, he said. The spot from where the victim fell is located on the second floor of the building. He was rushed to a hospital but he succumbed to his injuries there, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Chinmoy Biswal said. Siddharth seemed to be visibly happy as he had sought admission in the college.
