Wisconsin to announce football series with Notre Dame on Monday

Postado Agosto 14, 2017

The two teams have not faced off since 1964.

Including the two matchups with Wisconsin, Notre Dame will play seven games against Big Ten teams through 2021.

Starting in 2020, the Irish and Badgers will play an early-season matchup in Green Bay at Lambeau Field, home of the Green Back Packers.

Wisconsin and Notre Dame will be making a "big announcement" on Monday, reportedly announcing a new football series between the programs.

Wisconsin's Athletic Director Barry Alvarez, Notre Dame's Vice President Jack Swarbrick and Athletic Director James E. Rohr, Mike Kelly of the Chicago Park District and Packer's President and CEO Mark Murphy will all be in attendance. The Irish hold a 8-6-1 lead in the all-time series.

The Chicago Tribune reports that Lambeau Field will host a game between Notre Dame and Wisconsin in 2020.

It will be Wisconsin's first trip to Soldier Field since 2011, when the Badgers demolished Northern Illinois behind Russell Wilson and company. The Irish will also face the likes of Northwestern and Ohio State over the next several years.

"I thought past year, it was neat for our players playing in Lambeau", Chryst said.
