Central Michigan at Syracuse

Syracuse is coming off a disappointing seven-point home loss to Middle Tennessee despite another huge game from Steve Ishmael.

Syracuse quarterback Eric Dungey finished with 279 passing yards and 3 touchdowns, he also added 105 rushing yards. It was the most an SU team has rushed for under head coach Dino Babers. Bennett was the leading tackler for Syracuse last season.

ABOUT SYRACUSE (1-1): Ishmael is having a fine season to this point, but he still needs to make his way into the end zone - a problem a year ago as well - as he has totaled 74 catches and only one TD since the start of 2016. We think we've got a good football team.

The offenses then exchanged touchdowns before SU's Chris Frederick hauled in another interception near the end of the half to set up a nine-yard touchdown run by Dontae Strickland, giving the Orange a 24-17 advantage that it maintained the rest of the way. "We just kept pushing".

ABOUT CENTRAL MICHIGAN (2-0): The Chippewas have a solid offensive attack led by Morris (693 yards, six TD passes), Jonathan Ward (206 rushing yards) and Mark Chapman (256 receiving yards, three TDs).

Syracuse took over after CMU's 91-yard drive.

Only 44 seconds later, quarterback Shane Morris found Cameron Cole for a 56-yard receiving touchdown, taking the first lead of the game in Cole's first career catch and touchdown.

"I think Eric Dungey is a great quarterback for that offense because of his ability to move his legs; we saw that late in the game", Bonamego said.

SU's defense maintained its strong style of play in the second half and held the Chippewas to an average of 4.8 yards per play and a 3-for-16 conversion rate on third downs.

Gilfus is a redshirt freshman wide receiver for the Orange and played about eight snaps, lining up outside without drawing a target.
