When a Ferris wheel malfunctioned at the fair, two children were left clinging to each other inside the tilted carriage as a carnival worker fell from the ride while trying to help.
Not many details have been released, but Greensboro police said the worker was trying to fix one of the malfunctioning cars on a Ferris wheel ride when the person fell to the ground.
Police said the call came in around 9:30 Friday night.
The injured worker was transported by Guildford County EMS to a local hospital for treatment.
On Saturday, the Central Carolina Fair released a statement saying the gondola was re-inspected and that state officials had approved the ride to be back in use.
Michael's Amusement out of Fayetteville is the company that operates the ride.
