Outlander casts key roles for season 4

Filming on the fourth season of Outlander officially kicked off in Scotland this week, and Starz has revealed the first casting news for their critically acclaimed series.

The third season of the Golden Globe-nominated series is now airing on Starz, with the highly anticipated Print Shop reunion episode titled "A. Malcolm" slated to air on October 22, while next Sunday will feature a marathon viewing of the first five episodes of the season.

Kennedy will play Jocasta, Jamie's (Sam Heughan) strong-willed Aunt and Speleers will portray Irishman Stephen Bonnet, a pirate and smuggler. Comprised of 13 episodes, Season 4 will be based on author Diana Gabaldon's fourth book in the series, Drums of Autumn. Jamie and Claire wind up at Jocasta's plantation in North Carolina.

Kennedy's other credits include The Conjuring 2, The Tudors, and The Commitments.

Speleers has been featured in Wolf Hall, ITV primetime drama Beowulf, and the 2016 film Through the Looking Glass.

Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, Matthew B. Roberts, Toni Graphia, and Andy Harries serve as executive producers of Outlander, which is produced by Tall Ship Productions, Story Mining & Supply Company and Left Bank Pictures in association with Sony Pictures Television.
