After years of shuffling directors and release dates, Fox announced Thursday that Pirates of the Caribbean filmmaker Gore Verbinski is set to direct the X-Men spin-off, which will be released on February 14, 2019.
It's good news for fans who have been following the movie's progress, which has been plagued with delays.
The working title was found in a recent production listing, and was used in 2015 when Rupert Wyatt was attached direct. Production is likely targeted to begin in early 2018, so casting news should be expected soon.
