Cricket legend Shane Warne has slammed a magazine story insisting he will be bowling maidens over as the 2018 Bachelor.
On Monday, "New Idea" rocked the nation with the mind-shattering headline: "Shane Warne is the new Bachelor!".
The story which sparked the spin king's ire claimed Warne had been approached by network bosses and is "ironing out the finer details" of an estimated $1 million contract to try to find love on the show.
'Whatever he does always ends up in the media so he figures why not give it a shot, ' the spy spills.
The magazine has chatted to an "insider" at Channel Ten who has claimed that they're now in the final stages of signing Shane onto the show. "How can they continue to print lies about me, make up stories and get away with it?" he posted on Twitter.
Unfortunately, it looks like - at least for now - it could be fake news.
The insider went on to explain that Sophie Monk's season on The Bachelorette and that Warnie was a good choice as he is "Australia's ultimate bachelor".
Could Shane Warne find true love on The Bachelor? Warne, whose Twitter bio features the phrase "still single", is no stranger to Network Ten's reality outings, having previously featured on 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!'.
Whatever happens, Warne has promised to reveal the inner workings of his head and heart in a new autobiography he plans to have ready for release in October.
According to The Herald Sun, it is understood that Warne may be considering legal options.
