CBS Detroit reports that schools in the area, including Oxford, Brandon Township, and Clarkston, were closed as police search for the gunman.
Police are looking for 34-year-old Michael Quigley in connection with the shooting.
According to police, the Clarkston resident allegedly shot the 33-year-old woman and another man during a domestic dispute Tuesday evening in an Ortonville apartment on Village Court, which is just east of downtown.
Praski said the two victims are listed in critical condition in an area hospital.
Neighbors called 911 after hearing several shots at the apartment complex.
Police were searching Wednesday for Michael Joseph Quigley, believed to be the suspect in a shooting in northern MI.
A number of schools are also closed Wednesday as a result of the ongoing search.
