Star Wars: Battlefront II costs £1600 to unlock everything

It's becoming clear that Star Wars: Battlefront II will be seen as a milestone game in the future, not for its gameplay or graphics but for the way it makes its money.

The worst part of the game is this: You are limited on credits earned in Arcade mode.

While Electronic Arts have not fully backed down on their decision to lock key "Star Wars" figures behind in-game paywalls, a new update from the company tries to meet the community halfway.

EA responded to the controversy on Reddit, telling fans that it wanted to provide players with a sense of accomplishment.

"There's been a lot of discussion around the amount of in-game credits (and time) it takes to unlock some of our heroes, especially Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader", reads a new blog post.

"Unlocking a hero is a great accomplishment in the game, something we want players to have fun earning", said executive producer John Wasilczyk from the developer Dice, in a statement.

EA says the number of credits required will now be reduced by 75%.

"Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader will now be available for 15,000 credits; Emperor Palpatine, Chewbacca, and Leia Organa for 10,000 credits; and Iden at 5,000 credits".

"Star Wars Battlefront 2" is not lacking for media coverage less than a week before launch, although most of these have been negative over the past few days.

EA Access subscribers on Xbox One and PC can play ten hours of the game ahead of launch.

It was also revealed that from December 13, fans will be able to play as Finn and Captain Phasma by unlocking them with credits.
