Buhari hints on seeking re-election, says 'people of Kano in my pocket'

Buhari said he would remain focused in order to restore the lost glory of the country. "So we have to make sacrifice to prepare the youth for the future", Buhari said.

"When I was the military head of state, I have arrested many people and jailed them for alleged corruption and in the end, I also ended in a jail", he said.

He also commended Governor Ganduje for the completion and upgrade of the hospital.

The dinner was organised in his honour by Kano State Government.

"I am urging other states governors to emulate Ganduje by executing similar projects in their states".

Muhammadu Buhari Specialist Hospital and Paediatric Hospital, Zoo Road were projects first initiated by Ibrahim Shekarau's administration who governed the state between 2003 and 2011. With him are Governor Ganduje, right and Lt.

"It has been so consistent and I don't think I have the vocabulary to express my thanks to the people of Kano".

Earlier, Ganduje said the contract for building of the hospital was awarded over 10 years ago by past administrations but that his administration felt obliged to complete it.

In its reaction, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said the president lacked any quality to be reelected.

Eight days after that hint, Buhari who had run four presidential campaigns, again let slip the possibility of another campaign when emotion came over him at the sights and sounds of the enthusiastic Kano crowd that welcomed him to the Emir's Palace. "The APC led government has nothing to show that would warrant them a second term", Adeyeye told our reporter last night by telephone.

Buhari said, "The change agenda is to reform Nigeria and Nigerians and to uplift the lives of Nigerians".
