Layoffs are coming at Winston-Salem based Krispy Kreme.
- Krispy Kreme has announced that they have eliminated about 90 corporate positions and will be setting up offices in Charlotte and London in 2018.
Effected employees will be getting severance, bonuses, health and outplacement benefits.
Krispy Kreme says the move comes as it continues to transform into a global company. The company said it will focus on areas such as digital evolution, consumer convenience and product innovation. We told employees that as we chart our path forward, we know that the structure we have today is not the structure we will need to accomplish this ambitious mission.
"We deeply appreciate their contributions to the Company and will assist them as much as possible during this hard time by providing severance, 2017 bonus, and health and outplacement benefits", Sarah Roof Garling, Manager of Corporate Communications, said in a statement. We will also continue to operate our mix plant and our equipment manufacturing business in Winston-Salem.
The company's corporate headquarters will remain in Winston-Salem.
