The ranting man, in the video, viciously beats up the victim before proceeding to set his body on fire. As is the case with earlier videos of lynching, for example of the dairy farmer Pehlu Khan, Shambhulal's video of the murder followed by his hate speech, justifying the act, too went "viral" on WhatsApp.
Udaipur: A brutally video of Muslim man being hacked to death allegedly on suspicious of committing "love jihad" sent chills down people's spine. Shambhu Nath Raigar, the person in the video, was arrested this morning, SP Rajsamand Manoj Kumar told PTI.
Police identified the half-charred body as that of Mohammed Afrazul (48), a native of Malda in West Bengal, who worked as a labourer and lived with his family in Rajsamand.
The incident took place in Rajasthan's Rajsamand district. "The accused has been arrested and a special investigation team has been set up for investigation in the case". Raigar even uploaded the video of the shocking act on social media. Raigar is seen warning that those indulging in "love jihad" will meet the same fate. Apart from this he also passed threats on "love Jihad" standing next to the burning body.
Police found a motorcycle, scooty, axe, bottle of petrol and a half-burnt Aadhaar card on the spot. The content of the video will make infuriated and will explain all the wrong reasons for which it is trending. The victim has been identified as Mohammed Bhatta Sheikh. The pamphlets that were later withdrawn, termed Muslims as "terrorists" who trap Hindu women, sell them or even kill them and had lessons on "how to save your daughters/sisters from Love jihad". Police recovered an agricultural tool believed to have been used in the murder from the crime scene.
