The surprisingly excellent Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle may be getting more paid DLC early next year, but rather than being contented with that developer Ubisoft has today announced its intention to bring local versus multiplayer to the game in a free bonus update tomorrow.
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Versus Mode will be available to download on Nintendo Switch from December 8, 2017. As opposed to the main game's movement and attack structure, the new mode introduces a ticket-based system in which your team can collectively only move, attack, or use an ability three times in a turn.
Additionally, playable characters in the mode will be "beefy, upgraded versions of all eight characters" (presumably to ensure character balance), while 16 different unlockable variants will be available on top of standard, "all-around starter loadouts" for each character. It's focused on PvP, allowing you to play the Nintendo Switch title locally against your friends-with a single Joy-Con each-for the first time. You may be accustomed to moving, attacking, and using techniques for each of your heroes during every turn in the campaign and co-op, but Versus is a different story.
