Moeen Ali has been named the captain of the England XI, which will play a two-day warm-up match against Cricket Australia XI at Richardson Park in Perth this weekend. The remainder of the team will comprise members of England Lions squad, with the likes of Mark Wood pushing a case for his inclusion in the Test squad.
Moeen Ali, after a awful start to the tour, will play and captain an England side for the first time as he tries to get more bowling under his belt. Moeen did not bowl much ahead of the Ashes Test series due to a side strain, which limited his involvement in the warm-up matches.
The 12 man squad has been named by the European Central Bank as: Moeen Ali (Worcestershire), Jake Ball (Nottinghamshire), Gary Ballance (Yorkshire), Mason Crane (Hampshire), Tom Curran (Surrey), Ben Duckett (Northamptonshire), Ben Foakes (Surrey), Keaton Jennings (Lancashire), Dan Lawrence (Essex), Jack Leach (Somerset), Liam Livingstone (Lancashire), and Mark Wood (Durham).
That will give opportunities to - among others - Mark Wood, Keaton Jennings, Ben Duckett and Liam Livingstone. Ben Foakes will be the wicket-keeper for England XI.
