Adam Vinatieri may lose $500000 because of Colts' snow game in Buffalo

Visibility was practically nonexistent in the game's first quarter and New Era Field was covered in snow throughout a miserable day for both teams offensively.

With the win the Bills are back in the second AFC wild-card spot, but are tied with the Baltimore Ravens and the Los Angeles Chargers with three games left in the season. However, he was 0-for-2 on field goals, missing kicks from 33 and 43 yards. Buffalo won on a LeSean McCoy touchdown run in overtime. He needs to hit at least 90% of his field goals this season to get it. Heading into the game, Vinatieri was at 95.6%, going 22-of-23 on his kicks.

Unfortunately, Vinatieri's misses could still end up costing him. He would receive a $500,000 bonus for making 90 percent of his field goal attempts (with a minimum of 16 attempts) this season.

Not only have the misses hurt Vinatieri's percentage, but they will also make it more hard to move past Morten Andersen as the NFL's all-time leading scorer.

The Colts will likely use the final three games to figure out their game plan for the offseason and they begin that stretch on a short week against the Denver Broncos. "If it was just snow and no wind, it's one thing. It was a tough game".

After the game, Vinatieri wasn't too hard on himself for the misses, speaking to the difficulty of kicking in such wintry conditions.
