Trust will arrive on FX on March 25th.
The Plot: Inspired by actual events, Trust delves into the trials and triumphs of one of America's wealthiest and unhappiest families, the Gettys. After all, what rich family wouldn't pay for the return of a loved one? Those of you who saw the indie film Beach Rats a year ago may recognize actor Harris Dickinson playing the young, impetuous John Paul Getty III (Charlie Plummer in the movie), while Hilary Swank, fresh off her frankly freaky performance in Logan Lucky, plays the role of Gail (Michelle Williams in the movie). His captors banked on a multi-million-dollar ransom. Michael Esper and Hilary Swank also star as J. Paul Getty Jr. and his wife Gail.
The cast also includes Brendan Fraser, Anna Chancellor, Norbert Leo Butz, Charlotte Riley and Luca Marinelli. Danny Boyle directed the first ree episodes. This time, however, rather than bring in FX Networks mainstay Ryan Murphy, the powers that be have brought in director Danny Boyle, along with his frequent collaborator Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours) to offer what looks to be a darkly comic take on the ultra rich family, starting with the infamous kidnapping to which the Getty name will forever be linked. The show is produced by FX Productions, Cloud Eight Films, Decibel Films and Snicket Films Limited.
