Boat with 40 children capsizes in Maharashtra

A fishing boat with 40 students on board capsized in the Arabian Sea near Maharashtra's Dahanu on Saturday.

Coast Guard has diverted ships which were at sea and ships are also sailing from Mumbai.

DySP and Local Magistrate had rushed to the scene and overseeing the rescue operations. Search operations for the remaining are underway.

According to ANI, 2 ISVs deployed for patrol in area have been diverted for search and rescue operations along with 3 Coast Guard units already in area.

"There was an incident of boat capsize at Dahanu Parnaka Beach".

'All our local officers and staff are on the spot.

According to news agency ANI, four students lost their lives, while 25 have been rescued.

Dahanu is a coastal town and a municipal council in Palghar district of Maharashtra state in Konkan division.
