With the IPL set for a thorough reshuffle with the IPL 2018 Auction, the BCCI, on Saturday released a list of a whopping 1,122 players, including the likes of Chris Gayle, Yuvraj Singh, Joe Root and Shane Watson, who will be up for grabs on January 27 and 28.
About 282 overseas players- 58 from Australia, 57 from South Africa, 39 each from Sri Lanka and West Indies, 30 from New Zealand, and 26 from England - have registered for the auction.
Lasith Malinga, whose form has taken a considerable dip in the past year or so, too will be part of the auction apart from his Sri Lanka mates Angelo Mathews and Niroshan Dickwella.
From Australia, hoping to show his full range of strokes in this edition's IPL will be Glenn Maxwell along with Pat Cummins and Mitchell Johnson, who bowled Mumbai Indians to their third title last season with his final over heroics.
There are a total of 281 capped players, 838 uncapped players, which also includes 778 Indian players, apart from three players from Associate nations. Afghanistan will have 13 players, Bangladesh eight, Zimbabwe seven, US two and Scotland one.
Lasith Malinga will lead Sri Lanka's entourage that includes Angelo Mathews, the exciting Niroshan Dickwella, and Thisara Perera.
South African stars Hashim Amla, who hit two centuries for Kings XI Punjab last season, Faf du Plessis and Morne Morkel will also be expecting high bids.
Kane Williamson, Colin Munro and Tom Latham from New Zealand will add the Kiwi charm.
Besides the 2011 World Cup-winning trio, off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane, mystery spinner Kuldeep Yadav and openers K L Rahul and Murali Vijay are likely to be on top of every franchise's wish list.
