Pikachu New 2DS XL Launches on Jan 26 in North America

Postado Janeiro 13, 2018

Detective Pikachu is the same size as Regular Old Pikachu!

The move marks another step in the recent resurgence of Pokemon that began with Pokemon Go's release in 2016. Get your deerstalker caps ready, because the game will be released on the 3DS on March 23, 2018 in North America and Europe.

The Detective Pikachu game sees players take on the role of the titular talking Pokémon, and team up with a human named Tim Goodman to solve the mystery of his dad's disappearance.

The Pikachu will also get his own amiibo - a real toy that is compatible with the game - that will help you find out real in-game hints during the game.

The game was originally released in Japan two years ago, to no particular acclaim, and yet for some reason it's getting a live action film adaptation staring Ryan Reynolds. You'll have to "talk to witnesses, hunt for clues, and uncover the secrets of Ryme City".

A special amiibo is also being manufactured to coincide with the game's release.

The game was also confirmed to be coming to the USA and Europe on March 23rd thanks to a post on the official Pokémon webpage. He isn't doing it alone, of course, with the gritty, coffee-addicted Detective Pikachu at his side. But we have to admit that even we don't understand what's going on with Detective Pikachu.

We're hopeful the amiibo will come to Australia too, we'll let you know when we hear from Nintendo Australia.
