A Hamas official whose brother is a leader in the organization was injured in a auto bombing in Sidon, southern Lebanon, according to a spokesperson for the terror group.
"A bomb placed in a BMW in Sidon detonated, wounding Hamas official Mohammed Hamdan", a military source said on Sunday.
The explosion occurred while he was opening the door of his vehicle. A medical source at the scene told AFP that Hamdan had suffered serious wounds to his legs while opening the door to his auto, and was transported to a hospital.
It was not immediately clear whether Abu Hamza Hamdan, brother of Osama Hamdan, survived the explosion.
The burnt-out vehicle was seen afterwards in a auto park.
The Lebanese Army also released a statement soon after the bombing, confirming that an explosion had targeted Hamdan as he was entering his vehicle.
