Mina unveiled at Nou Camp following £10.5m switch

Postado Janeiro 14, 2018

The Colombian defender, signed for £10.5m from Palmeiras, has already made a good impression following his charismatic arrival. However, the Catlan giants did have the first choice over the 23-year-old, despite Mina's agent insisting that the option is not air-tight and that even includes the potential fee.

He was introduced to thousands of adoring fans at the Nou Camp on Saturday and showed his respect for his new club by taking his shoes and socks off before stepping onto the pitch for the very first time.

Yerry Mina is eager to get to work with Lionel Messi and Gerard Pique at Barcelona and start collecting "many trophies". "It says that with the planting of your [bare] feet you will touch the terrain you want to conquer".

Speaking to Barca's official television channel upon his unveiling, the highly-rated centre-half said: "For me it's a source of indescribable pride to be here because I have always dreamed about it and now the chance has come to be here with these great figures".

Barcelona initially had an agreement with Palmeiras to bring Mina in the middle of this year for about 9 million euros, but agreed to pay extra and advance the deal because of the hamstring injury to Umtiti, who hasn't played since December and is not likely to return until next month.

"For me, he [Messi] is the best in the world".

"I will be calm and I will try to control my adrenaline", Mina said at his presentation - quoted by Marca. To contribute to the team and learn from my team-mates. "I have to do things well and fit well in the group".
