Woman alleges Aziz Ansari assaulted her after date

Actor and comedian Aziz Ansari is the latest man in Hollywood to have accusations of sexual misconduct levelled at him, after an interview was published on feminist website babe with a 23-year-old woman who says the single date she went on with him was "the worst night of [her] life".

The two met for a date on September 25, starting at Ansari's Tribeca apartment, then at an oyster bar along the Hudson River.

"When the waiter came over he quickly asked for the check and he said like, 'Let's get off this boat.' Like, he got the check and then it was bada-boom, bada-bing, we're out of there", she said.

She then claimed the two returned to his apartment, where he tried to have sex with her but she declined.

She says this was a common theme throughout their encounter: he would charge forward, attempting to initiate sex, and she'd try to put the brakes on.

"It was 30 minutes of me getting up and moving and him following and sticking his fingers down my throat again".

"I remember saying, 'You guys are all the same, you guys are all the f-ing same.' Ansari asked her what she meant. When she turned to answer, she says he met her with 'gross, forceful kisses'".

The pair of them allegedly had dinner, where it felt like "Ansari was eager for them to leave". She even explained him the reason why she was telling him how she felt, "I want to make sure you're aware so maybe the next girl doesn't have to cry on the ride home". "That last hour was so out of my hand", she wrote. She shared a screenshot of her text messages with Ansari after the terrible encounter. "Last night might've been fun for you, but it wasn't for me", she started. "You ignored clear non-verbal clues; you kept going with advances".

While Ansari hasn't responded yet, there has been a higher number of people outraging over Ansari's misconduct on social media.

Ashamed of ignoring the obvious signs of discomfort, Ansari apologised along the lines, "Clearly, I misread things in the moment and I'm truly sorry".

The Independent has reached out to Ansari's representatives for comment.
