Champions League: Its unfair to compare Salah to Messi - Gerrard

Postado Fevereiro 15, 2018

Kane now tops the goal scoring charts with 23 goals to his name, although Salah is only one behind the England forward and, after his four-goal haul in Manchester City's 5-1 thumping of Leicester, Aguero is two behind.

The race for the Premier League golden boot is hotting up and Kane now leads the way on 23 strikes, with Salah one goal behind. The Egyptian can take some added credit, however, having assisted his teammates six more times than Kane, who has only set up a single goal.

"I hope to be like Mohamed Salah when I grow up", Abdel-Gawad told AFP.

Should Kane finish as top scorer this season it would be the third consecutive season he has claimed the Golden Boot; remarkable consistency for a man who is still yet to reach the age of 25.

"I think Liverpool would benefit from a monster of a centre-midfielder, a holder", Gerrard said on BT Sport. It is a great story.

"But Mo Salah, I don't remember a player playing like that in his first season".

Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard, has praised Mohamed Salah following his goal and spectacular performance for Liverpool in their 5-0 win over Porto. The Egyptian National Team star has already broken a 102-year-old record to become the fastest player to score 25 goals for Liverpool, overtaking Roger Hunt.

After his four-goal haul at the weekend, Sergio Aguero now has 21 goals for the season to make it a three-horse race at the top.

If both clubs manage to retain their two stars for the years to come, we could soon be spoilt with one of the most impressive forward rivalries of the modern era.
