Kumasi Asante Kotoko's Accra vice circles chairman Mr. Kofi Adusei has disclosed the club will provide supporters with a free transportation to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium together with a match ticket going into their crunchy Africa confederations cup match with Congolese outfit Cara Brazevile come Sunday.
Kotoko striker Saddick Adams failed to capitalize from 12 yards as he blasted wide to the relieve of the CARA defence in the fourth minute. Meanwhile, CARA missed their only penalty.
Kotoko missed a remarkable three spotkicks - all taken by different players - during the 90 minutes, while the Congolese heavyweights missed one of their own late on.
Kwame Boahene came close in giving Kotoko the lead in the 29th minutes but his curled effort struck the cross bar after a fingertip save from CARA goalkeeper Massa Chansel. CARA keeper Chancel, who had saved two penalties already, stepped up to take his side's spot-kick, however, his effort was saved by Kotoko keeper Felix Annan.
"The supporters were fantastic for coming in their numbers to cheer Kotoko team to victory", he said. The game was indeed a thrilling one as Referee Issa awarded CARA their first penalty of the game but Massa Chansel also amazingly missed from the spot.
The Brazzaville-based side, who are now second in the Congolese top flight, host Kotoko in the return leg on February 21 at the Stade Alphonse Massamba Debat.
In a unusual occasion in football, referee Isasa Sy awarded five penalties in the game, four of which were to hosts Kotoko.
