The Flash showrunner Todd Helbing says fans are wrong about the identity of the mysterious girl that keeps popping up on the show.
The Mystery Girl's identity on The Flash season 4 remains one of the show's greatest mysteries - we've see the character (played by Jessica Parker Kennedy) on a few occasions, but to date the only things that we know for sure is that she has some connection to Barry and Iris, she understands some of the same unusual symbols we saw from Barry at the start of the season, and it seems like she's intentionally trying to meet certain characters at specific time.
In the four-way crossover Crisis on Earth-X, Barry Allen met a young woman shortly before his wedding who was awestruck to meet him and reminded him to stay focused.
The mystery waitress's identity in The Flash is still a mystery for the fans. "I don't think anybody ever is going to guess exactly what it is".
We understand that most people out there probably want this character to be Dawn Allen and we get that - we want to have tangible evidence that Barry and Iris are together and happy years into the future! In last week's episode, the older Flash said that he would retire once he was done training an unnamed female speedster who recently got her powers on his earth. It appears that the new metahuman in town, Matthew/Melting Pot (guest star Leonardo Nam), transferred Barry's super speed genes to Iris in an unexpected turn of events.
We may learn more about the mystery girl in the coming weeks. Why give Iris her own color scheme instead of just making her the Flash for a week? In two visits to Jitters, she has crossed paths with Ralph (Hartley Sawyer), Harry (Tom Cavanagh), Cisco (Carlos Valdes), and Caitlin (Danielle Pakabaker).
Season 4 of The Flash continues Tuesday, March 13, at 8pm ET on The CW.
