Obsidian's newest game needs just a little bit more time, and that revelation comes mere weeks before launch. Back in January, the developers stated that the game would be releasing on April 3, but today, they announced that Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire has been delayed until May 8.
"We know you're as excited as we are about the upcoming launch of Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire", Obsidian said in a statement.
Obsidian's new but old fashioned role-playing game Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire has been delayed a month on PC. While no specific reason was given for the delay, Obsidian simply says it's "taking just a few extra weeks to polish and put those finishing touches on the game". 'As you have probably guessed, Deadfire is a huge game - significantly larger than the original Pillars of Eternity. Also, it's set to release on PS4, Switch, and Xbox One later this year, and there's no word about whether this delay pushes back the timeline for the console versions.
