Although Buhari had appealed to stakeholders to resolve their differences, some people were killed during the president's visit.
Suspected herdsmen have reportedly killed 23 persons in fresh attacks on Dundu Village of Miango District in Bassa local government area of Plateau state.
Close to 200 people have been killed as a result of herdsmen attacks in Various states in the country in 2018 alone.
The incident which occurred on Monday night in Dudu village, Kwall District in Bassa Local Government Area of the State left 19 men, three women and three children dead.
The development was confirmed by the Special Task Force providing security in Plateau State, the Plateau State Police Command and the Irigwe Development Association.
Terna Tyopev, the spokesman of the Plateau State Police Command, who also confirmed the attacks, said the Commissioner had deployed the Deputy Commissioner (Operations), Taiwo Jebiyesu, to the scene of the crime for an on-the-spot assessment.
He said, "Yes, there has been an attack but right now, we don't have the figure, but the DCP Operations is on his way to the village to ascertain the true position".
"I shall inform you when the Details of the attack are made available please".
Plateau State has witnessed at least four attacks since President Buhari visited the state on Thursday, last week.
He lamented that the attacks came on a day slated for the mass burial of those killed last week.
