The Gratiot County Sheriff's Office is asking for your help identifying a body found in a garbage bag in Seville Township.

According to the Facebook post, the hunters found the bag around 10:30 Sunday morning and cut it open. Sheriff Doug Wright tells the Morning Sun of Mount Pleasant the death is being investigated as a homicide.

Hunters in Gratiot County found a bag in a ditch that contained the dead body of a man on Sunday, March 11.

Officials have not said how they think the man was killed.

The body was transported to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing for an autopsy.

On the body were two identifiable tattoos - an eagle on the right shoulder and a skull wearing a cowboy hat on the left shoulder. The skull is bordered by the written states of Texas, Florida and MI.

He appeared to have suffered a recent injury to his left hand, since two fingers were taped together. When they found the body, they immediately called 911. That's not even 200 yards away and here they find the body.

It "was really nerve-racking because I just got back from heart surgery. Kind of scares you because it's just too close to home". "We're just gonna watch out, hope that nothing happens", McVeigh said.
