He may have scored the decisive game-winning goal, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic admitted he should have had a hat trick as the LA Galaxy returned to winning ways with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Chicago Fire Saturday.
Ibrahimovic took his MLS goals tally to three in three games after heading home a cross from former England and Chelsea star Ashley Cole on 45 minutes. After scoring twice to help his new club beat LAFC on his MLS debut, Ibrahimovic made his first start and his header just before half-time was the difference in the game.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been on the field for 127 minutes for the Los Angeles Galaxy, and he already has three goals scored. Chicago's best chance at an equalizer came in the 68th minute whenAleksandar Katai's dipping shot from distance was pawed aside by Galaxy keeperDavid Bingham.
The win lifts Galaxy into second place in the Western Conference standings with 10 points from six games.
Three Galaxy players - Romain Alessandrini, Perry Kitchen and Cole - were cautioned along with Fire players Brandon Vincent and Alan Gordon.
