He suffered a right hip contusion during Sunday's victory over the Utah Jazz and although there has been no official announcement on his status for Game 2 he did go through practice with the team.
The Oklahoma City Thunder lead the Utah Jazz 54-48 at halftime of the teams' Game 1 matchup of the NBA Playoffs. While the Jazz aren't quite yet ready to clear him for Wednesday's contest, it seems likely that Mitchell will ultimately play through the injury, especially considering the Jazz lost the first game of the series.
"I feel fine. I just stubbed my toe, nothing major".
With that said, there is positive news on the injury front, with all indications pointing to a minor ailment on his left foot and a positive prognosis when it comes to an all-important Game 2.
Needless to say, he just really wants to play. Not only that, but he's the first player since LeBron James to post 25 points and 10 rebounds in a playoff debut. These are the National Basketball Association playoffs, after all.
