Chief Justice of Pakistan, Chaudry Saqib Nisar, personally visited Justice Ijaz's house after hearing the news.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has tabled a resolution condemning an attack on Supreme Court judge Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan, in Punjab Assembly today (Monday). The first incident took place in the night between Saturday and Sunday, while the second occurred on Sunday morning.
The resolution demanded that the concerning authorities should provide foolproof security to the judges to avoid such incidents in the future. He then called Inspector General Punjab Police on the site of incident and asked him to investigate on the matter and making sure that the suspects were caught immediately. The team would be headed by Punjab Additional IG Mohammad Tahir whereas DIG Investigation Sultan Chaudhry, one member each from Military Intelligence, Inter-Service Intelligence, Intelligence Bureau, Special Branch and Forensic Agency will also be part of it.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and ISPR chief have also condemned the attack on SC judge.
The judge was a member of the bench that ruled that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif could not become party chief after his disqualification.
