Nemanja Vidic Echoes Mourinho's Concerns About Current United Players

Postado Abril 16, 2018

Jay Rodriguez's late goal handed Manchester City the Premier League title on Super Sunday, in what was a poor performance from Jose Mourinho's side against the bottom club.

James McClean of West Bromwich Albion and Ashley Young of Manchester United during the Premier League match between Manchester United and West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford on April 15, 2018 in Manchester, England.

"Today they didn't show what we expected, the energy going forward, that burst or sprint".

Everything was complicated. Players, they didn't want or they couldn't play simple, everything was slow, everything was one more touch, everything was one more flick, one more trick, one more turn, ball lost, and no continuity and no fluidity in our football - I don't think we deserved to lose, but we gave them the opportunity to win the match.

Vidic played for eight-and-a-half years at United, winning five league titles and the Champions League during his time at Old Trafford under Sir Alex Ferguson.

They have a good team, they have good players, but sometimes I think the players. you have to show desire, you have to show energy, you have to run more than other teams.

"I don't think that will happen - maybe it's my Arsenal side coming out - but he rested some good players today and ended up losing the game".

"It's sad to see Man United lose at home to West Brom, a team who have won just three games all season".

"It hurts, because United need a good spirit ahead of the Tottenham match, an important match", Vidic added.

'It seems like he (Jose) is saying there is a problem with mentality in the players.

"You play for Man Utd it's not acceptable to draw".

"We won the Champions League, we didn't celebrate".

United went into the game knowing they had to avoid defeat to delay Manchester City's inevitable Premier League title win. We had two hours of celebration, go on holiday, and the manager was thinking: "'Who will we bring in next season to compete?'"
