Deep Silver have joined in the fun by announcing a delay for Shenmue 3 which is having it's launch date shifted from the end of this year to some time in 2019. It was previously slated to come out in late 2018 but publisher Deep Silver explained that the game needed more time for "polish".
Shenmue III has been officially delayed, according to an update post on its Kickstarter webpage.
Deep Silver said in a statement that the change in release date was forced upon them in order to make sure that the game was fully "polished" before being unveiled.
"Deep Silver today announce that their upcoming release Shenmue III has been moved and will now release in 2019".
Yu Suzuki himself followed up with a comment, expressing his apologies and promising to use the tame to improve the quality of the game further. This will allow developer YS Net some extra time to "polish the quality of the game", though for Shenmue fans it is yet another hurdle they face in finally getting their hands on the long-awaited game.
