After another dominant performance at the Kentucky Derby, Justify will enter the race as the odds-on favorite, hoping for another victory on his way to a potential Triple Crown.
The post positions and opening odds are now set for the Preakness Stakes, with Justify running as the clear favorite to win the race and continue his run towards the Triple Crown. The colt posted triple-digit Beyer Speed Figures in each of his last two races, the Santa Anita Derby and Kentucky Derby, and appears to be peaking at the right time. "There's no horse out there right now that can stop him on this run. It's his Triple Crown to lose".
Post time for the big race is set for 6:20 p.m., but chances are you'll want to tune in a bit earlier to be sure you don't miss any of the action. A furlong is one-eighth of a mile, so the Preakness is 110 yards shorter than the Kentucky Derby.
Won the Federico Tesio Stakes for his fourth win in six career starts. That race was run on a sloppy Churchill Downs track.
Following the PREAKNESS STAKES, TSN heads to Belmont Park in NY, to deliver the final stop in the American Triple Crown, the 150th running of the one and a half mile BELMONT STAKES on June 9. The event has meaning, but much less so than the Kentucky Derby and its 20-horse field.
