Sony revealed Capcom's Resident Evil 2 remake that will be arriving on consoles in 2019. It's also been confirmed that Resident Evil 2 Remake will release on January 25th, 2019. It looks as though players will find themselves once again facing off against hordes of zombies in the streets of Raccoon City, while also contending with the likes of Lickers, Tyrants, and other monstrosities. There are also a few easter eggs in the showcase like the inclusion of a Playstation One console as well as a plague rat from Resident Evil Outbreak. However, it appears that the game will utilize an over-the-camera system similar to what we saw in Resident Evil 4 and 5. However, others may approve of the new direction, as it offers a fresh way to experience the classic horror game.
Back in 2015, Capcom announced that they were working on a remake to 1998's Resident Evil 2 and that was the last we heard of it. until now, that is. "The first look at E3 is just a taste of what's to come".
Playing as Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy, Capcom is swapping out the original fixed camera viewpoints for an over-the-shoulder view. Will they make it out alive? The setting is Raccoon City, whose citizens have, as you could probably guess, been turned into ravenous zombies by a disastrous plague.
Iconic series defining gameplay - Engage in frenzied combat with enemies, explore dark menacing corridors, solve puzzles to access areas and collect and use items discovered around the environment in a terrifying constant fight for survival. Players will feel they're in the shoes of heroes Leon and Claire, terrified to step out of the light for fear of what flesh-eating nightmares might await them in the darkness. If the footage is to be believed, the amount of work that went into this remake is on par with the work that went into the original Resident Evil remake, and that game is considered to be the best remake ever made.
