Not sure if it should be named as a co-incidence, but Paresh received a letter from Sunil Dutt hours before his demise! Yes! Narrating how the actor received the letter 5 days ahead of his birthday, he added that he had kept the letter safe with him for nearly 12 years.
"About the letter, Rawal said", On May 25, 2005, I was shooting for a movie and I called up home to say that I will be late today. And during the shooting, we got to know that Dutt Sahab (Sunil Dutt) has passed away, so I called up my wife and said I will come a bit late because Dutt Sahab has passed away and I am going to his house. She then told me that there's a letter for you from him (Sunil Dutt). "The film-maker smiled and replied, "I'll do five movies with you". I was so surprised. I asked her what the letter was and she said it's for wishing you a happy birthday. There are so many interesting stories to tell that I've never had the chance to tell before. Why would Dutt Sahab send me a birthday letter five days before my birthday? You forget about them, but that letter was there with all my important documents and it was again found on the same day Rajkumar Hirani narrated the Sanju role to me. "I showed that letter to Hirani later".
Just ten days after its release, Rajkumar Hirani directorial Sanju managed to cross over INR3 billion, proving that Hirani and actor Ranbir Kapoor are probably one of the most successful director-actor pair of recent times.
Apart from Paresh Rawal and Ranbir Kapoor, "Sanju" which also features Sonam Kapoor, Manisha Koirala, and Jim Sarbh among others was released on June 29.
