Mahrez - PFA Player of the Year in 2016 - believes City are ready to lift the Champions League and insisted he is relishing the fight for a starting berth under Pep Guardiola.
Mahrez, 27, arrives at the club following a failed move in January. City have Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva on the right flank and Leroy Sané on the other so the need for an extra wide player in not immediately obvious.
He said: "They (City) offered and Leicester rejected the offers, but it's the past".
I am very confident about myself.
The story goes on to claim that Chelsea FC are willing to pay £57.4m for Jorginho after Manchester City had put an offer thought to be worth £48.6m on the table.
The Blues missed the presence of Nemanja Matic in midfield after Chelsea FC made the controversial decision to sell the Serbia global in a £40m deal to their bitter rivals Manchester United last summer. The Champions League is for big clubs and Manchester City are a big club.
'It's a club that wants to win this type of trophy, the Champions League is for big clubs and City is a big club'.
"They have everything to try to win the Champions League".
"Of course he deserves to play higher but Leicester are a good club as well, so let's see". They deserve a lot of credit for what they have achieved because reaching the semi final is very, very hard.
