Crenshaw is reportedly a popular fixture in the area, known for painting on canvases near a trendy spot in South Beach. That's when the suspect, identified as Jonathan Crenshaw, 47, pulled out an unknown object and stabbed the male.
A homeless artist without arms has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a tourist in Florida with a pair of scissors - using only his feet to wield the weapon, police said.
The victim was treated for his injuries and Crenshaw was taken to jail and charged with aggravated battery, the report states.
Officers found Coronado lying on the ground, bleeding from his left arm.
The Florida native clutched the scissors with his feet and knifed 22-year-old Cesar Coronado twice before running away, according to the arrest report.
Barrientos described the attacker to police as a homeless, armless man. Officers found Crenshaw a short distance away and arrested him.
Coronado was visiting the area with his friend from Chicago. Both of them said that Coronado had approached Crenshaw for directions when the man jumped up and stabbed him.
Crenshaw is now being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $7,500 bond.
Along with multiple charges of battering police, Crenshaw's record also includes trespassing and disorderly intoxication arrests. His court date is scheduled for July 18.
